EXPERT CAREER TRACK

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.


WHAT WE NEED

We’re looking for an Expert Consultant or Project Leader in Digital Supply Chain to help clients enhance their performance and build new capabilities to compete in the digital age. The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital supply chain strategy and supply chain management, as well as experience advising clients on how to use digital tools to enable their journey toward operational excellence. 


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Digital Supply Chain Experts work in our Operations (OPS) practice, helping companies think beyond the limits of their traditional business models, strategise how to add value, and reorganise to defend their business and seize new opportunities.


Depending on your level of expertise, we will consider you for either an Expert Consultant or Expert Project Leader role. 


As an Expert Project Leader, you would play a leading role in the growth of our Digital Supply Chain offering by helping to deliver projects; build our intellectual property and developing executive-level client relationships. In this role, you will advise clients on key strategic issues, produce leading-edge business models, address specific problems and opportunities, and implement sustainable solutions—all filtered through a lens of digital and data-driven innovation. Drawing on expertise with evolving digital tools and capabilities, you will challenge existing assumptions to create tailored, fully integrated solutions that optimise client operations to create powerful competitive advantage.


A portion of this role will be to develop BCG’s content and IP on Digital Supply Chain through promoting and publishing thought leadership. This role will assist in running industry events, attending study tours and conferences to bring new insights to key Digital Supply Chain topics.


As an Expert Consultant, you will be integrated into a BCG team and leverage your deep expertise on projects that reshape businesses. You will be given end-to-end responsibility for large and complex “modules” within BCG Digital Supply Chain projects. You will work closely with clients to understand their issues, create strategies for change, and win buy-in for your recommendations, while also collaborating with colleagues on complex client issues. You will provide deep expertise and insight to clients and help build the Digital Supply Chain offering within BCG. A majority of your time will be focused on supporting and executing case work.


What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS)

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • 5-10 years of experience in industry on supply chain operations or a technology supplier to operations, or a combination of industry and consulting experience (preferred), with a focus on the following:
    • Operational Excellence across end to end supply chain activities
    • Process optimisation
    • Production optimisation / continuous improvement (i.e. lean, six sigma)
    • Availability / reliability
    • End to end project execution support, including training and coaching
    • Logistics, materials management, and warehousing
    • Service level analysis and tracking
    • Inventory level setting and ongoing management
    • S&OP and Integrated Business Planning
    • End to end supply chain system integration
    • Development and deployment of Control Tower technology/capability
  • Some focused / deep pockets of expertise, such as in supply chain visibility and analytics, quality system and analytics, or digital tools for manufacturing process improvement.  Examples of relevant experience include:
    • Implementation of supply chain planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis Rapid Response)
    • Implementation of supply chain visibility and collaboration tools (e.g., Elementum, E2Open, FusionOps)
    • Implementation of supply chain optimisation tools (e.g., Llamasoft)
    • Implementation of manufacturing and/or quality efficiency and planning tools (e.g., electronic batch records, MES, SmartQC)
    • Familiarity (or Expertise) using Agile methodology to develop software solutions in supply chain setting
    • Development of visibility and/or analytics solutions for supply chain management
    • Development of visibility and/or analytics algorithms leveraging supply chain systems data
    • Application of advanced analytics capabilities such as machine learning and/or AI
    • Familiarity (or Expertise) using modern software development tools (e.g., SQL, Javascript) to develop solutions in supply chain management
  • Established network within supply chain and / or digital / technology players
  • Proven track record of implementation success
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree with outstanding academic performance from a top tier university
YOU’LL BE BASED IN:

Sydney or Melbourne.

You must be prepared to travel extensively. Most travel is within New Zealand and Australia however, some client assignments may require travel globally.
