What You'll Do

About the role

As a senior member of this team, your work will directly influence services and products at the highest levels of private, not-for-profit and public sector organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. We value bold ideas and respect divergent thinking in a culture built around collaboration, cooperation and mutual support. We are building a unique team within a growing professional services organisation, a team that will change the way our consultants and clients approach complex problems together. This role will help to write the future of BCG for the next generation. The role gives you the opportunity to make your impact authentic, real and profound with the backing of BCG’s strategic and analytic horsepower.

We are looking for experienced and versatile designers who have a strong track record in User Experience Design, User Experience Architecture, User Interface Design or Visual Design, and are interested in building deeper skills and leadership in one area.

As a Senior Experience Designer, you will be expected to:

  • Lead teams of designers and consultants through Human Centred Design activities often at client sites
  • Act as a coach, trainer and mentor within the team and broader company
  • Nurture a dynamic design-led culture that allows team members to thrive
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and refinement methodologies, tools, templates and assets for your discipline
  • Participate in the preparation of bids in collaboration with BCG consultants
  • Take a hands-on leadership and practitioner role in multiple agile cross-functional teams of strategic designers, user researchers, UX/UI designers, developers, consultants, architects and clients
  • Work with outsourced specialist agencies and freelancers

As a member of the Human Centred Design team more generally, you will be expected to have a range of responsibilities:

Strategy and research:

  • Participate in quantitative research investigations that help strategically frame, validate or challenge other forms of research
  • Participate in ethnographic research and contextual design investigations to understand customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations
  • Contribute to deep trend analysis and research of interesting exemplars in the marketplace
  • Identify insights from customer research and market analysis
  • Collaborate in the development design artefacts such as personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios
  • Participate in research engagements to evaluate the team’s design concepts, including usability evaluations, service simulations, role plays, public betas and A/B testing

Collaborative design and development:

  • Contribute unique ideas within multidisciplinary workshops, meetings and immersion sessions.
  • Using divergent design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products, services and/or physical connected form-factors
  • Converge innovative ideas to a set of digital and tangible products, services and/or physical connected form-factors in partnership with consultants, product managers and engineering teams
  • Communicate design ideas using techniques, including product concepts, service models, customer journeys, industrial designs, system maps and/or infographics
  • Iteratively design, test and refine disruptive products and services through prototypes and simulations
