What You'll Do

As a Consultant in the expert track, the role provides a unique opportunity to combine client service work in a specific topic area with expertise development. The primary responsibilities of a Consultant will be to contribute to our Digital Transformation Accelerator within the Technology Advantage practice. He / she will work with our client service teams in key client relationships to further build BCG's state-of-the-art expertise with respect to digital transformation and innovation topics. Thus, the incumbent will be expected to spend his / her time primarily on:

  • Executing client case work and business development activities
  • Investing in the development of BCG's capabilities and expertise- developing and driving 
  • the content agenda to the next level in your area of expertise
  • Playing an active role supporting the commercial agenda, ensuring the topic is being pushed at the right clients in the region
  • Building BCG's brand within the topic internally and externally

The balance of time between the roles will vary over time with client demands and internal requirements. Overall billability expectations for the cohort are lower than the generalist track to allow for the time invested in business, capability and expertise development (typically - 5O% client billability).

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

General Requirements

  • Preferred advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics or Mathematics - graduate of a leading engineering school would be a plus
  • Strong academics from top-tier institutions (top 10% of class) 
  • Excellent written and spoken English, other Asian languages a bonus
  • 5-7 years’ experience within Telecommunications, Financial Services or premier IT group
  • Management consulting experience preferred
  • Experience addressing business challenges leveraging Technology solutions 
  • Exposure to deep dive IT diagnostics, experience identifying value creation opportunities
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles
  • Interest and expertise in technology-related training topics such as Big Data and Analytics, Information/Cyber- security, information architecture, IT project management methodologies
  • Experience in driving an intellectual agenda and building delivery and execution of a digital academy
