What You'll Do

Roles & Responsibilities

A Project Leader has responsibility for the delivery of consulting projects, leading small but high impact teams of consultants to drive impact for our clients. Project Leaders are typically aligned to one or two Industry or Functional Practice Areas (though may also lead projects outside these Practice Areas on occasion).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the day-to-day execution of consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement; including:
  • Owning the project planning and process management, and communicating progress to clients and BCG leadership
  • Driving development of the content, either directly or by providing guidance to the consulting team (for example, by sharing ideas, frameworks or providing input on research and analysis)
  • Managing the client relationship on a day-to-day basis
  • Managing project scope and maintaining an acceptable pace of work
  • Actively managing multiple client and stakeholder relationships
  • Leading senior client presentations and meetings
  • Providing apprenticeship and coaching to junior consultants to help develop their consulting skills, including sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow
  • Supporting and contributing to other BCG projects, for example by sharing expertise or best practices
  • Contributing to the development of intellectual property within the Practice Area(s), including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches
  • Contributing to business development efforts, including preparation of proposal documents and attending pitch presentations
  • Contributing to the running of the Technology Advantage practice, which may include recruiting, training or other activities

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses:
  • At least 7 years of work experience in top level technology advisory or consulting firms, though candidates with excellent technology focussed industry backgrounds and 4-5 years of previous consulting experience would also be considered
  • 3-4 years leading/playing core role in driving technology projects - owning the project process, content and day-to-day client interactions Experience within the Financial Service industry / Consumer Goods / Industrial Goods sector with a focus on the Automotive industry / Logistic industry. 
  • A strong understanding of above industries networks and how they intersect 
  • A strong track record of client management, incl. executives, managers and working level, on both daily interactions and content discussion
  • Strong core consulting skills, inlc. problem scoping and structuring, prioritization, team coaching & development, quality control and development
  • Digital Transformation/Big data & Analytics/Customer Journey related practical experience required, perferrable in Auto, Financial Service, Consumer Goods, broader industry goods and TMT related experience are also acceptable
  • Experience developing and implementing business driven technology strategies involving quantitative analysis, solution design and implementation support.
  • Experience in a wide range of technology topics: strategy, transformation, organization, outsourcing & sharing, performance management

Education and Qualifications

  • Strong academics from a top-tier institution
  • An MBA is desirable but not essential
