What You'll Do
- Build, manage and motivate a team of engineers
- Drive the Engineering function end-to-end (establish culture, develop talent, ensure employee satisfaction, provide direction, establish sustainable pace for team's work, maintain pipeline of products and projects, ensure on-time delivery of product and projects, partner with Product, Design and Data teams, provide weekly status reports)
- Create an Engineering Center of Excellence within Platinion Digital
- Expert at driving and motivating great people to build great products (Career Development Ninja)
- Research and develop technology vision and architecture for web, mobile, data, BPM, and related digital capabilities
- Effectively manage full-stack engineering team (7-12 engineers)
- Agile proponent and/or Lean or other Product-Driven Methodology; can defend these methodologies to stakeholders or IT teams
- Solve technology and usability challenges on a daily basis
- Ability to research new technologies and develop prototypes, MVPs and POCs
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 10+ Years professional software development experience, prefer at least 4-5 within Product Development
- Strong Hands-On Experience: UX/Front End, APIs, Data Layer and RDBMS, 2+ years NoSQL experience
- Solid Arch Experience: Solution Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Applications Architecture
- Solid Development Experience: (at least 2): Java, .NET, Python, PHP, Ruby, Node
- Exemplifies: Gravitas, Poise, Patience, Calmness, Coolness, Collectedness, Knowledge, Determination, Professionalism
- Product Management experience: codify /clarify incoming demand, develop world-class products, deliver to client base
- Strong experience with Javascript and JS-based frameworks such as React, Angular or Meteor, HTML5, some CSS
- Familiar with tools and platforms : Git/Stash or Svn, Visio, PowerPoint, Browserify or RequireJs, NPM or AptGet, Grunt or Gulp, ES6 and Webpacks preferred
- Native/Hybrid mobile dev experience:(any of the following) React native, Objective-C, Swift, JQuery mobile, Ionic, PhoneGap, Ratchet
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO Design with rock-solid programming skills
- Effective communicator with diverse array of clients, stakeholders, and engineering team, can develop internal and external networks
- Proven success working in a rapidly changing, collaborative, and iterative product development environment
- Must be able to travel up to 50% to client sites as an engineering expert, when required
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: FinTech, Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Health Care, Retail, Telcom, Luxury Brands
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent (8-12 years professional engineering within a startup or organization with 20+ employees)
