OVERVIEW OF GAMMA ENGINEERING:

The Gamma Engineering team is building the next generation of analytics tools:

With your help, Gamma will develop a platform that fuels BCG Gamma‘s global data and analytics offerings. Data scientists depend on easy to use interfaces to easily code, increase productivity, answer questions, and envision their results.

Clients need to easily interact with our analytics applications to measure the success of their new analytics enabled organization or quickly make decisions based on what and how they see analytic output. Our clients will use our analytics solutions to derive insights around business trends. We “open the doors” to data for our clients giving them fast and trusted options to search, frame, and share data.


POSITION SUMMARY:

As an expert and valuable asset to the case teams and to clients, you will be helping BCG and its clients move forward while helping them solve difficult technology problems. You will help clients define what platform means to them, design their ideal solution and be the lead on the implementation while inspiring and guiding engineers (BCG and client engineers) to make the platform a reality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

            Support organizational changes in regards to capability development, restructuring toward product-centric team models, and transitioning to modern agile SDLC practices

            Communicate technical decisions to non-technical audiences and build consensus around them

            Articulate the value of foundational technology approaches to business executives (e.g. the pros & cons of microservices architectures in a given context)

            Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster interaction at different levels

            Manage priorities and make decisions in high stakes scenarios


Your Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

            Masters’ degree or PhD, and preference on CS degree Cloud native architecture principles

            9+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on providing architectural and platform solutions, previous consulting experience and/or strong leadership positions

            Containerization and PaaS approaches and tools (e.g., Docker EE, OpenShift, Kubernetes)

            Domain-driven factoring of service interfaces using domain modeling, event storming, and other techniques

            Delivery infrastructure buildout (e.g. CI, deployment orchestration, observability, and A/B test infrastructure)

            Modern security practices

            Modern API platform design

            Modern data architectures (e.g. event driven architectures, stream processing, and integrating real time analytics into customer applications)          

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

                           Certified AWS, Azure of GCP Architect

                           Experience guiding teams in addressing the technical and delivery challenges in migrating away from monolithic systems to a modern services architecture

                           Ability to provide hands-on guidance to teams with an emphasis on strong layering, isolation practices and effective test strategies

                           Proven success supporting the implementation of delivery pipelines with modern delivery technologies

TECHNOLOGIES:

                           Languages: Python, Go, Scala, Java, Javascript, Typescript GO, C++, Java, Scala, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript

                           DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, unix-based command line

                           5+ years of experience with Linux, server automation and scripting

                           3+ years of experience with Container technology using Docker

                           3+ years of experience with OOP concepts and 3+ years of experience with modern scripting languages and frameworks

                           2+ years of experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or SumoLogic

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

            Fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment

            Position is located in Gamma European hubs (Paris, London, Germany, Nordics etc.)

            Fluency in local language and English are required

            Expect time spent traveling
