WHAT WE NEED
BCG is looking for an Expert Consultant to make Pricing a game-changing source of value for clients. The ideal candidate will have strong core analytical skills, and deep content expertise in the areas of pricing strategy, pricing execution, pricing capabilities, and pricing transformation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Working in our Marketing, Sales, and Pricing (MSP) Practice, you will partner with leading companies to develop and implement best-in-class pricing strategies, and also build capabilities and tools that generate impact for clients.
Pricing has the power to create competitive advantage and spur growth, but not all companies know how to leverage it. Despite an abundance of available data, many companies still approach pricing from a “gut-feeling” perspective. You will help clients identify the right pricing strategy their needs, and develop pricing frameworks that meet and exceed consumer expectations while driving growth and capturing sustainable value.
In this role, you will support the execution of projects for multiple client engagements, bringing Pricing expertise to the team, both on industry-specific issues and with respect to key client questions. You will direct and supervise research activities to obtain relevant data and define client needs and challenges. Working alongside BCG and client project leaders, you will contribute expertise, synthesize recommendations, challenge work in progress, and re-orient analyses as necessary. You will also drive commercial growth by supporting colleagues in their business development activities, originating leads and acting as a key topic content lead for proposals or other business development work in the Pricing space.
You will also build Pricing expertise within BCG, and increase the firm’s external profile by creating new techniques and/or capturing ideas that strengthen our thought leader position, publishing and posting on the topic, and building repeatable toolkits for use by BCG project teams.

The Marketing, Sales & Pricing Practice (MSP) leverages deep consumer and customer insight to inspire revolutionary thinking in all aspects of marketing, branding, sales/channels and pricing. Our customized approach to pricing strategy and enablement has created a massive impact across industries, driving 2-8% of sales directly to the bottom line each year. This translates to hundreds of millions of dollars in profit.
MSP has been BCG's fastest growing functional practice over the past five years, and continues to expand. We believe the market opportunity continues to be huge as the go-to-market revolution affects the entire commercial landscape, and clients seek go-to-market transformation and growth.
This position reports to Global Pricing Topic Leader and is part of our Expert Career Track, an exciting career path within BCG that provides opportunity to deepen expertise and progress within the firm. Expert consultants are vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Our experts are driven by a passion to explore and innovate in their field. As part of our consulting cohort, they work alongside our generalist and specialty consultants to form “one BCG team,” capable of delivering deep strategy and technical expertise. Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise usually gained outside of BCG in either industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 3+ years of industry and/or consulting experience (preferred) with a focus on pricing strategy.
- A strong technical foundation in building analytical solutions and experience with complex data sets.
- Demonstrated expertise in Pricing strategy and quantitative methodologies across a range of industries (e.g., retail, consumer, and broader B2B sectors). Cross-functional experience across Pricing and software preferred, but not required.
- Industry expertise in one or more of the following areas: new market penetration, competitive pricing, sustainable impact, new product launches, revenue management, yield management, pricing analytics, and discounting management.
- Strong organizational skills and an analytic mindset. Must be able to understand and employ a variety of analytical tools to study markets and market segments, develop frameworks and hypotheses, quantify strategic options, and assess their effectiveness.
- Graduate degree focused in data analytics, or graduate of a leading business school a plus.
- A working proficiency in R, Python, SQL a plus.
