Practice Area Profile

The Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice works with companies across the digital device, software, IT services, TV, publishing, information services, entertainment and telecom sectors to make sense of the unrelenting velocity of technological and consumer change they face. We partner with clients to transform their industries, define winning business models, shape their value proposition and go-to-market approach, enhance their operational competitiveness, and create sustained advantage.

What You'll Do

The TMT practice is looking for an individual with significant experience with technology companies that are Series C, Series D, or beyond. Qualified individuals will have experience with:

  • Deep networks and expertise in growth tech companies
  • Strong management and execution experience (e.g., managing teams, driving business priorities, brand building, managing budgets)
  • Experience executing case work with growth tech companies

In this unique role, the ideal individual will split their time:


Building BCG's business

  • Shaping BCG's offering to key technology segments by informing BCG's approach based on prior experience and learnings in the market, and leading their advancement
  • Leveraging and expanding their network to promote BCG's business
  • Raising awareness and building brand internally by connecting with partners across practice areas and promote the value proposition of BCG's growth tech offering across the organization
Supporting BCG project teams and executing case work
  • Being a core member of the team for client engagements and project delivery in key areas including strategic direction, business excellence, growth and organizational agility
  • Advising clients as needed in workshops and/or high-level meetings
  • Supporting business development, proposals, pitch meetings

Our Expert Consulting Track (ECT)

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience within consulting and the growth tech industry
  • Senior management experience with history of building new business units including building teams, brands, offerings, etc…
  • Previous consulting experience, at least to manager level
  • Experience working at or with VCs, Angel Investors, Incubators, start-ups and/or “young” tech companies
  • MBA or PhD attractive but not required
  • Willing to travel up to 50% for project execution
