What You'll Do

BCG is expanding its Americas Marketing, Sales & Pricing practice.  We are currently looking for an individual at the Expert Consultant level who has significant experience in Pricing Strategy. The focus of this role will be on providing expert level credibility to clients and helping build our Pricing topic within the firm. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership in practice growth, client relations, people management and knowledge development. Ideal candidates will also have demonstrated deep content expertise in the areas of pricing strategy, pricing execution, pricing capabilities, and pricing transformation. Finally, ideal candidates will have experience with leading pricing software in the market and a desire to build/customize/implement our suites of products during our engagements at clients and facilitate their adoption.

This position works closely with the Global Pricing Topic Leader and MSP Catalyst commercial software team.

Roles & Responsibilities

Support execution of Pricing assignments:

  • Work jointly with BCG and client project leaders, bring Pricing expertise to the team, both on issues specific to the industry and on questions asked by the client.
  • Support multiple case teams, especially those with need for deep and hand-on approach, either as an individual contributor or owner on a specific Pricing topic, or as an advisor to the overall project.
  • Act as project manager for an entire case or at a module level on select topic. Own project process, content and day to day client interactions.
  • Ensure the quality of the work, and the relevance of the synthesis and recommendations.  Challenge the work in progress and the results; reorient the work approach and analyses as needed.
  • Deploy BCG’s commercial software offering, MSP Catalyst, with clients on pricing engagements

Contribute to the business development of the Pricing practice in the Americas:

  • Key support for proposal creation and presentation: provide content expertise around specific topics; act as key topic content lead for proposals or other business development work
  • Build awareness for BCG Pricing competence and its commercial software offering
  • Contribute to the development of additional business beyond the delivery of recommendations on Client engagements

Build Pricing expertise within BCG and increase BCG’s profile externally

  • Create awareness of BCG expertise in the external community; participate in key industry forums, including presenting on topics relevant to senior management
  • Contribute to improving methodology and tools, and lead topic development on areas of expertise
  • Develop and contribute to BCG’s intellectual capital – work on BCG knowledge content projects to develop new techniques and/or capture new ideas to further the intellectual capital in the topic areas
  • Write internal memos or papers and present them at internal meetings/conferences
  • Work on articles that are published in external journals and/or industry trade magazines
  • Attend industry and/or topic-specific conferences to expand the network for the topic area
  • Participate in the recruiting of other experts and training efforts

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industry or a combination of industry and consulting experience (preferred)
  • More than five years of responsibility for Pricing related activities
  • A strong technical foundation in building analytical solutions
  • Experience with a variety of analytical languages – primarily R, Python, SAS
  • Experience or a strong interest in building a software product offering
  • Graduate of a leading business school

San Francisco, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle preferred. We will consider other US locations.

Travel is anticipated and will vary between 20-60% based on specific project locations at any point in time.
