Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we work closely with clients to embrace a transformational approach aimed at benefiting all stakeholders—empowering organizations to grow, build sustainable competitive advantage, and drive positive societal impact.

Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives that question the status quo and spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting, technology and design, and corporate and digital ventures. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, fueled by the goal of helping our clients thrive and enabling them to make the world a better place.

What You'll Do

WHAT YOU’LL DO

BCG is looking for Project Leader and Principal consultants who will partner with clients to take on their most difficult challenges, transform mindsets, reimagine businesses, and build capabilities that enable organizations to achieve sustainable advantage. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, curious, and confident, with a penchant for going above and beyond immediate project requirements to find deep insights that others have missed. A genuine passion for problem-solving, combined with first-rate leadership and communication skills will be critical to success.

At BCG, we set our standard for value creation high, challenging ourselves to deliver tangible and positive change. Our work must provide next-level insights, change the mindset of our clients, and directly lead to clients taking action and executing their business in new ways.

Project Leaders direct work on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization to the development of actionable recommendations for profitable growth, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.

Principals, as the senior person most frequently at the client site, will interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets.

Projects vary based on client needs, but the importance of seeing possibilities where other people find limits will be a constant. Principals go deep to unlock insight, challenge established thinking, drive transformation, improve performance, and deliver bottom-line impact.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

At BCG in Calgary, you'll be helping to build our newest Canadian office and shape business in Western Canada. We work with the top Canadian and global corporations on their most pressing issues. In addition to the exciting and high-impact client work we do, we strive to be an integral part of the community of leaders who shape Canada's future.  Our office is located in Eighth Avenue Place on the vibrant Stephen Avenue Walk with access to some of the best dining and shopping options in Calgary. The Calgary office culture is built on a foundation of innovation and support, in which staff work together to shape what we want the office culture to be.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

YOU BRING

Experience and skills should include:
  • 3 – 5+ years of post graduate consulting experience with 1+ years at a team lead level
  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, fully owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements.
  • A combination of managing teams and “hands on” delivery experience is critical. Principals supervise junior consultants as engagements are executed, but must be prepared to roll up their sleeves and get directly involved as well.
  • A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business.
