Practice Area Profile

BCG’s Industrial Goods practice serves four broad industrial segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineered Products & Infrastructure, Materials & Process Industries, and Transportation & Logistics. We help companies in these sectors think beyond the limits of their traditional business models, choose where and how they should add value, and reorganize to defend themselves against new threats and explore new opportunities.

Role Profile

We are looking for an individual at the Project Leader or Principal level, who has exceptional experience in structuring and executing complex projects driving the business agenda of our Industrial Goods clients.

Depending on the nature of the projects, you will develop innovative strategies, drive commercial growth agendas, optimize the organizational structure, and improve cost positions for maximum efficiency and competitiveness, or transform entire operations.  You will be working directly with the BCG Industrial Goods Partner team in the South System and manage on a day-to-day basis our teams of consultants to drive highest-level insights and outstanding client impact. At BCG, we work very closely with our clients – you will play the fundamental role of deepening our client relationships on the executive level and advancing our commercial agenda through proposals and BD work. 

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage our teams of professional consultants and execute BCG projects in an end-to-end way delivering exceptional results and maximum value creation
  • Ensure quality of the work and relevance of the synthesis and recommendations. Challenge the work in progress and the results; reorient the work approach and analyses as needed
  • Establish and deepen relationships with leaders and management teams at our existing or prospective clients
  • Work closely together with the BCG Industrial Goods Partner team to deliver projects, drive our commercial agenda, prepare and deliver proposals, and advance our practice
  • Contribute to our knowledge base, support BCG teams based on your experience, and actively participate in BCG Industrial Goods practice days in North America with content and through discussions
  • Coach and develop more junior team members on a day-to-day basis

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in management consulting supporting clients in the Industrial Goods space
  • Experience leading teams of consultants, working closely together with Partners, and engaging with executive level client teams
  • Relevant experience related to strategy projects, commercial growth initiatives, cost optimization efforts, and transformations
  • MBA or similar advanced degree in business administration, finance or similar preferred
