What You'll Do

WHAT WE NEED

BCG is looking for Project Leader and Principal consultants to help Industrial Goods clients enhance performance and build new capabilities that enable them to achieve long-term competitive advantage. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Industrial Goods sector. The ability to structure and execute complex strategic projects and/or large-scale transformation efforts will also be critical to success.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of our Industrial Goods practice you will help clients think beyond the limits of traditional business models, reorganize to defend against emerging threats, and seize new opportunities.

The modern business landscape is more complex and uncertain than ever before, as consumer behaviors change and disruptive technologies emerge with increasing frequency. To survive and thrive in this environment, companies need to reimagine the way they do business. That’s where you come in. Leveraging industry-specific expertise, you will develop innovative strategies, drive commercial growth agendas, optimize the organizational structure, improve cost positions for maximum efficiency and competitiveness, and transform entire operations.

Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Acting as the “hub of the wheel” on client engagements, Project Leaders manage work, track progress, delegate, and participate as necessary to keep the project—and everyone involved—moving forward at all times while working with senior clients on the ground every day.

As the senior person most frequently at the client site, Principals interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Industrial Goods practice serves 4 broad industrial segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineered Products & Infrastructure, Materials & Process Industries, and Transportation & Logistics. You will be working directly with the BCG Industrial Goods Partner team in the South System, managing teams of consultants on a day-to-day basis to drive high-level insights and outstanding client impact.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with BCG team members from many backgrounds and disciplines in a team-oriented, relationship-driven environment. Working alongside some of the world’s top minds on cases that reshape business, government and society, you will increase your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives, and develop new skills. At the same time, you’ll partner with senior clients, taking on the role of trusted advisor, and work at all levels of the client organization to find and execute value creation strategies that result in meaningful, enduring impact.
