WHAT WE NEED:
BCG is looking for Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Project Leaders and Principal consultants who will partner with clients to take on their most difficult challenges, transform mindsets, create outstanding value, and build capabilities that enable organizations to achieve sustainable advantage. The ideal candidates will be inquisitive, curious, and confident, with a penchant for going above and beyond immediate project requirements to find deep insights that others have missed. They will possess significant experience in procurement with depth in strategic sourcing and a genuine passion for problem-solving. Leadership and communication skills will be critical to success. They will become an integral part of a top tier, growing team in this field.

Project Leaders and Principals manage work on client engagements, direct studies to define client needs, supervise research activities, and participate in business development. They oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, as well as advanced analysis to identify opportunities. They work closely with clients to solidity their competitive advantage and drive value on multiple levels: financial impact, organizational transformation, enhanced effectiveness and digitalization, improved supplier collaboration and optimized risk management. Project Leaders and Principals are also responsible for continuously developing the firm’s knowledge and capabilities, and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.
Projects vary based on client needs, but the importance of seeing possibilities where other people find limits will be a constant. Project Leaders and Principals go deep to unlock insight, challenge established thinking, drive transformation, improve performance, and deliver bottom-line impact.
You will contribute to the successful execution of strategic sourcing / procurement cases, business development, and topic development in North America:
Lead and execute strategic sourcing / procurement cases in various settings (programmatic cost take outs, PMIs, others)
Specifically, execute strategic sourcing assessments, should cost modeling, support market events (RFIs, RFPs) and incumbent supplier renegotiations, improve supplier collaborations, improve supplier risk management, drive procurement and strategic sourcing digitalization and perform other relevant initiatives
Contribute to topic development via research, creation of service offerings and products

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS)
- 3-5 years of post-graduate school experience in consulting – focused on strategic sourcing
- A combination of industry and consulting experience is preferred
- Experience across indirect and direct sourcing, management of programmatic efforts, as well as experience in P2P processes and digitalization preferred
- Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
- Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements

YOU’LL BE TRAVELING:
60-70% travel is anticipated, and will vary based on specific project locations.
