What You'll Do

We’re looking for a passionate and talented Sustainability Data Specialist to join our rapidly growing SIGMA team. In this role, you’ll have the chance to roll up your sleeves and work on real-world business situations with a data-driven approach, focusing on sustainability topics with our clients and global partners. Your core focus will revolve around major data topics such as carbon emissions accounting, target reduction setting, reduction initiative identification and roadmap design. You will also be able to work on Sigma’s internal initiatives (tool development, public reports creation etc.). Successful candidates are intellectually curious builders who are biased toward action, scrappy, and communicative. You will also get the chance to travel: we have clients in New York, Paris, Stockholm, Peru… Make sure your passport is ready to go!

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • Have a deep understanding of global sustainability topics, with a strong general knowledge of the ecosystem, ideally from a data/quantitative perspective
  • Are able to explain sophisticated concepts in an understandable manner to audiences with various levels of knowledge on sustainability
  • Can create complex quantitative models on sustainability topics (e.g. carbon accounting) and present them with clear and understandable visualizations
  • Are at ease handling large amounts of data from various sources, with variable levels of cleanliness and granularity (collecting, aggregating, cleaning, imputing, transforming etc.). Knowledge of a scripting language is a plus (Python, R)
  • Are comfortable in a client-facing role with the ambition to lead teams, with project management skills and are able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Display genuine interest for other social impact topics, ideally with volunteering experience

  • Master’s degree in Business or Engineering with 5 – 7 years of experience in sustainability consulting (i.e. Carbone4, Quantis, PwC), preferably with a quantitative profile
  • Prior knowledge of carbon measurement tools, data sources, manipulation and protocols (GHG, CDP, ADEME)
  • Prior knowledge of other sustainability topics (energy, water, biodiversity etc.) is a plus
  • Prior experience in mobility / energy / industrial sectors, experience in chemical sector is a plus
  • Excellent problem solving, data manipulation and presentation skills
  • Strong record of extracurricular activity, professional accomplishment, and leadership
  • Fluency in English and local office language is required
  • Strong scientific and technical appetence in Data Science and Visualisation tools is a plus
  • Fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment
  • Position is located in either Paris, London, Germany, Nordics, Warsaw, Milan, Zurich or Madrid
