What You'll Do
BCG is looking for Expert Consultants focused on renewable energy technologies to join our Nordic Energy & Climate team to help our clients combat climate change, prepare for a decarbonized world, and realize competitive advantages in a low-carbon economy.
As an Expert consultant, you will play a leading role in the growth of our Green Energy Transition topics with a particular focus on bringing deep expert knowledge in the hydrogen area. You will be vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities within emissions reduction technologies.
We are seeing increasing momentum for low-carbon hydrogen. The EU has set a clear ambition with the hydrogen strategy as part of a net zero ambition, while companies, both incumbents and new, are entering the market. To lead the green energy transition and thrive in a low-carbon economy, our clients need to reimagine the way they do business. That’s where you come in.
On a day to day basis, this will translate to:
- Jointly working with BCG and client leaders, bringing deep low-carbon technology expertise to the team, on topics such as hydrogen and renewables, that can help clients drive value
- Supporting case teams who are in need for a deep and hands-on approach for the entirety of the project or at a module level on a selected topic
- Interacting with client leaders, driving constructive dialogues as well as coaching client teams on fundamentals, opportunities and business cases of different low-carbon technologies for industry, transport, power and buildings.
- Playing a leading role in the growth of low-carbon technologies through case execution, business development, and intellectual property creation
Build low-carbon technology expertise within BCG and increase BCG’s profile externally by:
- Creating awareness of BCG expertise and capabilities externally through participating in key industry forums, publications, studies etc.
- Supporting a continuous development of low-carbon technologies capabilities internally at BCG
- Developing and improving the methodologies and tools we apply
- Contributing and developing BCG's intellectual capital
Support business development opportunities by:
- Providing content expertise on low-carbon technologies topics in business development and proposal contexts
Our Expert Consulting Track (ECT)
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
You will bring significant experience in low-carbon technologies and provide expert level knowledge to clients. Additionally, you will preferably have participated or led client engagements in low-carbon technologies, either in consulting or the industry.
You possess expertise and an overview of low-carbon technologies, including an understanding of market, technology and regulatory trends and know-how to execute strategy and business-build projects, . You enjoy working in a team setting and collaborating with colleagues as well as clients.
In addition, we expect you to have:
- ~5+ years of experience working with renewables, low-carbon technologies or climate solutions
- A proven track record of both conceptual and quantitative problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and team management
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and persuasion skills
- A team-oriented mindset
- Driven, hard-working, entrepreneurial, and proactive
- Able to provide mentorship and embody BCG’s purpose
- An advanced degree (ideally MSc, MBA or Ph.D.) with strong academic results
