Practice Area Profile

BCG’s Financial Institutions Practice Area (FIPA) aims to be the consultant of choice for leaders in the financial industry. We seek to achieve that goal by helping clients find their way amid the ever-evolving, ever-shifting competitive landscape. By focusing on the fundamental economics of their businesses and the underlying needs of their customers, we help banks, brokerages, asset managers and other financial- services organizations rethink their strategic assumptions, identify winning business propositions, and seize new opportunities in the expanding digital environment.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for customized analysis, as well as collecting, validating, analyzing, and generating reporting on benchmark data from clients.

Job responsibilities span both cooperation with consulting teams as well as topic/sector knowledge creation and segmentation.

• Scoping knowledge needs of consulting teams & liaising with colleagues to address them

• Providing customized knowledge for client work

• Creating and delivering original and rigor analysis and insights

• Driving knowledge base development and collecting insights on banking market

• Carrying benchmarking surveys, building and maintaining proprietary databases & data models on retail & corporate banking

• Tracking innovations appearing on banking & fintech market

• Providing analytical support to the project teams

• Running quantitative and qualitative analysis on FI topics

• Actively engaging in the projects and jointly with consultants identifying best practices and key success factors

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree (or final-year student preferably in Banking, Economics, Finance & Accounting) with strong academic achievements and interest in finance

• About 1 year of business oriented experience in FI sector (including internships, also from consulting/research roles) 

• Advanced Excel skills (modelling and other analytical tools such as Alteryx, VBA, Tableau would be a high advantage, but are not mandatory) 

• Proven analytical skills, experience in market research 

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels of seniority 

• Organization and prioritization skills, initiative, and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 

• Fluent in Polish and English 


Additional assets: 

• Experience in assessing the financial and operational performance, i.e. knowledge of financial reporting or KPIs; solid understanding of financial/banking concepts and terminology

• Knowledge of banking markets in CEE, i.e. products, trends and drivers across key segments
