What You'll Do

As a Strategic Design Lead you will work closely with our clients’ leadership teams to understand their key challenges, define design strategies, win buy-in for your recommendations and lead fellow BCG case team members to transform potential into performance. You will provide deep strategic design expertise and leadership experience in collaborative design and development. You will design and facilitate immersion sessions with multi-disciplinary clients using divergent design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products and services.

You will identify insights from customer research and market analysis and bring your research to life through personas, customer journeys, insight opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios through conceptual design work. You will communicate design ideas using techniques, including product concepts, service models, customer journeys, industrial designs, ecosystem maps, infographics and iteratively design, to test and refine disruptive products and services.

For clients seeking to undergo change transformation your will consult and advise clients on how to shift from being process led to design led, shaping and defining how design fits and operates within the new client organisation, through organising and facilitating ideation and incubation sessions to uncover creative and disruptive digital solutions.  For clients seeking to build capabilities you will lead and work alongside the client team, coaching both their design and leadership teams on how to instil and sustain design thinking for high value delivery. This is as much around the techniques for strategic design and delivery as it is around the culture and mind-set required within an organisation for those techniques to be successful.

You will be operationally responsible for the team content and deliverables and in addition to these operative activities, you will take on team lead responsibilities and demonstrate intellectual leadership directing and managing diverse teams of consulting talent. You will lead your team to create the conceptual development of products and services. You will bring innovative ideas to a set of tangible/non-tangible products and services in partnership with product managers, engineers and other designers. You will ensure that new products and ventures are set up to deliver strategic value in line with the deign content. This will result in the providing our client’s with an actionable roadmap to execute themselves or up to MVP collaboratively with BCG.

In your role you will represent the interface between Platinion and Core BCG as well as being the key point of contact for client stakeholder management.  As the interface between BCG Platinion and Core BCG you will need to ensure that the BCG Platinion value proposition and ways of working are understood and implemented.
