What You'll Do

As an Associate Director, you will be recognized by clients as an expert in your area and be seen internally as one of the faces of your topic. You will team with senior BCG leadership to generate significant growth in strategic priority areas. You will be directly involved in project execution to increase the value generated to clients, while playing a vital role in helping to build intellectual capital and the BCG brand. While continuing to play an important role in supporting and executing client work, Associate Directors transfer knowledge to a team around them (including traditional consultants)—hiring, coaching, and mentoring junior team members to support your area of expertise.

You will:
Play a leading role in helping our clients to improve their climate adaptation/resilience capabilities through case leadership & execution, client development, and intellectual property & product creation
Build, manage and maintain client relationships in the adaptation and resilience sector
Help clients to formulate comprehensive climate adaptation & resilience capabilities, including scenario modelling, key risk diagnosis and opportunity identification & prioritisation
Support selling and delivery of adaptation & resilience related projects/programs with private, public and not-for-profit sector clients
Identify socioeconomic, cultural or regulatory factors that may affect  potential adaptation & resilience solutions, and incorporate these into recommended solutions
Provide intellectual leadership for project teams by generating key ideas and conceptual frameworks to guide research and analysis 
Develop BCG’s thought leadership content and programs as part of our Climate and Sustainability practice in support of BCG’s clients and commercial agenda
Build internal affiliation and capability on adaptation & resilience specifically and Climate and Sustainability more generally 
Build connections to regional and global adaptation & resilience experts

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

At least 10-15 years of relevant consulting and/or industry experience in climate, with specific expertise in adaptation & resilience
Deep technical expertise on key climate risks faced by Southeast Asian countries and regionally-specific adaptation & resilience issues
Technical understanding of climate drivers, hazards and impact analysis, as well as latest developments from UNFCCC, IPCC and other relevant technical sources/references
Ability to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
Strong people skills including building empathy, strong relationships, and trust
Experience leading and managing teams and engaging with senior executives
Proven ability to build and maintain senior executive relationships, influencing senior executives' agendas and supporting critical strategic decisions 
Relevant tertiary qualifications from a top tier institution(s); Master's degree, MBA or PhD preferred
Fluency in English is a must
Fluency in any ASEAN language is a plus
