What You'll Do

WHAT WE NEED

BCG is looking for an Expert Project Leader or Associate Director focused in Climate Risk in Banking to join our Climate and Sustainability team and work alongside some of the world’s top minds in the industry. You will play a critical role in the growth of our Climate Risk in Banking topic through case execution, client development, and intellectual property and product creation. BCG helps clients transform their business models to optimize for societal and business value. With businesses facing more pressure than ever to rethink their role in society and improve their impact on people and the planet, BCG is looking for an expert to help our clients take on difficult challenges when it comes to climate and sustainability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this unique role, you will spend your time:  
  • Leading consulting engagements focused on Climate Risk and Climate Finance in Banking
  • Developing BCG’s thought leadership content and programs as part of our Climate and Sustainability practice in support of BCG’s clients and commercial agenda. 
  • Define and implement comprehensive risk and compliance government frameworks
  • Help clients in development of front-to-back climate risk management capabilities including, risk identification, assessment, measurement, management, scenario analysis and disclosures.
  • Develop climate scenario analysis capabilities – scenario generation, integrated assessment models, assessing the impact of climate scenarios on financial and risk, and reporting
  • Integrate with our broader Climate and Sustainability, and sector teams to identify risks and opportunities for key industry sectors (e.g., energy and power, transportation, industrial goods, etc.)
  • Analyze and monitor regulatory (prudential, market, securities, and conduct) requirements for their strategic impact and their operational implementation 
  • Help our clients advance their digital agenda for risk management 
  • Work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on-site
  • Actively support our business development efforts 

As an Expert Project Leader or Associate Director, you will be integrated into a BCG team and leverage your deep expertise on projects that reshape businesses. You will be given end-to-end responsibility for large and complex “modules” within a BCG project and may lead small but high-impact teams to drive results for our clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their issues, create strategies for change, and win buy-in for your recommendations, while also collaborating with colleagues on complex client issues. Your expertise will be valued by senior clients and you will help build and contribute to BCG’s intellectual capital while spending significant time supporting and executing case work.

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Leveraging your experience, you will develop industry-leading solutions to help our clients succeed.
  • 5+ years climate risk banking consulting or consulting/industry experience
  • Knowledge of key topics in one or more of: banking and capital markets, climate finance, net zero transition, climate risk, ESG risk, climate scenario analysis, TCFD
  • Knowledge of emerging regulatory expectations for climate risk management capabilities
  • Experience in modeling the impact of climate risk on material financial and non-financial risks, and opportunities
  • Strong academics from a top-tier institution 
  • Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex industry concepts in non-technical terms

Travel is anticipated and will vary based on specific project locations.

The first year base compensation for this role is $225,400 in USD.

In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus and BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution. BCG also provides a market leading benefits package described below.
