What You'll Do
- Understand policies, incentives, commercial, financial, and technical aspects of resiliency
- Foundational knowledge of urban services delivery and resiliency risks across infrastructure sectors
- Knowledgeable with:
- Climate change and sustainable development analytics
- Green development, inclusive and resilient cities (climate/ disaster risk)
- Rural – Urban development through supporting and managing the rural-urban transition
- Disaster risk management through issues of risk assessment, risk reduction (including flood management, urban drainage, coastal management, and retrofitting of infrastructure) and disaster preparedness
- Risk financing and resilient reconstruction (i.e. post-disaster damage and loss assessment)
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 5+ years of City Resilience and Urban Planning consulting and/or industry experience
- Knowledge of key topics such as rural-urban development policies, resiliency, disaster risk management, rural-urban transition, resilient reconstruction, risk financing, infrastructure, and green development
- Within rural-urban development, ability to utilize climate and sustainable development analytics
- Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value
- As appropriate based on tenure, proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements
- A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex industry concepts in non-technical terms
