What You'll Do
- Conducting in-depth climate & sustainability consumer research to deeply understand needs, perspectives, and drivers of behavior
- Mapping consumer journeys to understand touchpoints and opportunity to influence
- Performing field research and field experiments (potentially new)
- Conducting statistical modelling for test & learn (field experiments, marketing changes [spend/mix/messages], etc.) to show uplift from sustainability changes
- Analyzing willingness to pay and elasticity of demand with price changes from customer and market data
- Understanding and translating our client’s sustainability / net-zero targets to specific customer-centric action plans
- Developing scenario analysis and assessing impact of potential changes on customer demand and behavior, our clients, and environmental impact
- Integrating with our broader Marketing, Sales, & Pricing, and Climate & Sustainability, and sector teams to identify customer-centric opportunities for key industry sectors (e.g., consumer products, transportation, industrial goods, utilities)
- Working jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on-site
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 5+ years consumer behavior economics and analytics consulting and/or industry experience
- Knowledge of key topics in one or more of: consumer research, field research within sustainability, net zero, etc. topics, environmental impact analysis
- Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value.
- As appropriate based on tenure, proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements. A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex industry concepts in non-technical terms
