What You'll Do

As a Project Leader you will play a leading role in growing our capabilities in identifying how energy companies create value. This critical role will create new analytical products, benchmarks and other tools to provide BCG clients with unique insights on energy transitions and the role of value creation within it. You will work within the Center for Energy Impact to serve clients, create public facing publications and participate in creating impactful Seat at the Table events.  On a day-to-day basis, this will translate into:

Expert case execution:

  • Manage cases and client-facing project teams globally that are working on your area of expertise with 40%-50% of your capacity for our most valuable energy clients.
  • Act as a key topic expert for our Energy practice on Value Creation issues.
  • You will advise clients at the executive level across industries supporting them to improve or transform their understanding of how value creation is changing with the energy transition and achieve excellence in what they do.

Intellectual property & product creation:

  • Build, expand and own a benchmark covering key players in the sector, and with that become the go to person for insights into business and operating models in the industry.
  • Develop key content materials benchmarking value creation strategies for companies involved in the energy transition, focused in particular on companies in the Power & Utility or Low Carbon Energy space, with an emphasis on winning strategies in the next 3-7 year period.
  • Develop insights on underlying drivers of superior performance on the basis of BCG’s proprietary Total Shareholder Return (TSR) disaggregation analysis.
  • Develop and deploy analytical tools for evaluating energy company performance and strategies, particularly as they link in with green business models.
  • Strategic thought partnering with the senior members of the Center for Energy Impact (CEI) team for key regular and new deliverables underpinning C-suite level discussions with clients across the BCG Energy practice, spanning different geographies and parts of the energy value chain.

Seat at the Table (SATT) and networks:

  • Internal: Build relationships across the Energy Practice as well as other related Practices to bring the Best in BCG to clients. This includes expanding CEI’s footprint of analysis on the ecosystem of companies involved in energy by liaising with other practice areas and experts.
  • External: Build or expand your existing network with investment analysts, strategic thinkers on the energy transition, policymakers and others to allow you to understand how value creation is evolving.
  • Partner on early thought leadership development for all of CEI’s SATT efforts.
  • Team with BCG’s Fundamentals team and CEI analytical team to provide guidance on developing and maintaining appropriate tools and insights.
