Practice Area Profile

BCG’s Financial Institutions Practice Area (FIPA) aims to be the consultant of choice for leaders in the financial industry. We seek to achieve that goal by helping clients find their way amid the ever-evolving, ever-shifting competitive landscape. By focusing on the fundamental economics of their businesses and the underlying needs of their customers, we help banks, brokerages, asset managers and other financial- services organizations rethink their strategic assumptions, identify winning business propositions, and seize new opportunities in the expanding digital environment.

What You'll Do

As a Project Leader focused in payments, you will be responsible for managing project teams comprised of consultants and associate consultants who design and develop innovative long-term business strategies for client corporations that maximize the return on the investment of shareholders. Project teams at BCG are responsible for advising clients on key strategic business issues, producing leading-edge business models, and addressing specific problems and opportunities.  You will also play a key role in high-level client relationships and act as a content lead for proposals and other business development work.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of post-graduate school consulting experience, and/or 2-3+ years of line management experience, particularly within the payments/digital commerce industry.
  • Experience and/or interest in payments/digital commerce.
  • Strong organizational skills and an analytic mindset. Must be able to understand and employ a variety of analytical tools to study markets and market segments, develop frameworks and hypotheses, quantify strategic options, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Expert communication and presentation skills. Project Leaders must synthesize their team’s work into recommendations for presentation to clients and deliver oral and written reports to client management.
  • Intellectual curiosity, coupled with a drive to figure things out, get things done, and have an impact at the organizational level.

Travel is expected and will vary based on project needs.
