What You'll Do

As a Capture Manager at BCG, you will work with senior leadership to drive our business development efforts in the federal civilian health care space, working as an integral part of our business development team. The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key individuals in federal civilian health care organizations 
  • Lead efforts to secure knowledge and understanding of the client’s requirements, issues, and needs during the pursuit and capture phases and lead planning sessions with a core team
  • Lead internal coordination for go to market activities and drive communication with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices
  • Develop, organize, and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions
  • Lead, plan, and participate in capture activities, including opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, competitive assessments, price-to-win efforts, collaboration, and workshop sessions, and proposal reviews
  • Help identify teaming partners and negotiate with partnership teams to support proposal and business development success
  • Support the writing of white papers, RFX responses, and other proposal artifacts, as assigned, while ensuring complete capture alignment 
  • Work with proposal managers and consulting teams to ensure proposals meet both internal and external quality and compliance requirements 
  • Conduct After Action Reviews for business opportunities to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions
  • Continuously monitor the Federal marketplace for upcoming potential opportunities to meet growth goals 

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Must Haves 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Management, Political Science, or related field 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in account or large program management experience in HHS, HHS sub-agencies, civilian FED HC, health IT, etc.
  • Experiencing designing and driving go to market strategies as part of a team, including identifying opportunities and managing a robust pipeline
  • Successful experience leading or supporting business development teams in pursuit of proposal efforts in the HHS space
  • Be familiar with commercial and Government business intelligence tools such as Deltek GovWin, GovTribe, GSA eBuy, SAM.gov; FPDS.gov etc.
  • Demonstrated ownership and resourcefulness in dealing with complex and ambiguous situations 
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal contracting laws and contracting vehicles, specifically those pertaining to HHS and other civilian health care agencies 
  • Prior experience in drafting technical and commercial proposals for federal civilian health care agencies or other similar entities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High integrity and an ability to maintain confidentiality; Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • U.S citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Skills
  • Formal training in Capture Management and Proposal Management (ex. Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Certification, etc.)
  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions to respond to and win business with new and existing customers
