What You'll Do

Our Design teams address clients’ most critical challenges, brining design to the front line of business challenges and creating work that solves problems in novel, feasible and desirable ways. Our Experience Design (UX) team develops optimal user-experience journeys that influence how teams design cutting-edge and customised solutions to help our clients tackle challenges or improve their business offering. We use creativity and experience to focus on human-centered design and computer interaction in order to create innovative and exciting end-to-end experiences at the intersection of people and technology.

As a Senior Experience Designer you will work closely with our client’s leadership teams to understand their key challenges, define design Strategies, win buy-in for your recommendations and collaborate with BCG case team members to transform client potential. As a member of the team, you will be part of a rich community driving inspiration, knowledge and guidance throughout the design lifecycle. You will carry out activities that include refining and contributing to user requirements, experience vision, user research, experience strategy, ideation, wireframes, prototyping, interaction design, information architecture and customer usability. You will work alongside peers from our product, engineering, architecture and consulting teams to ensure that there is a shared understanding and adoption of human-centric design.

As a Senior Experience Designer, you will help to establish and introduce best practice UX processes to our client’s individual product and service lifecycles. You will balance customer expectations and needs with our client’s business goals, market viability and technical feasibility. You will be working alongside product owners to follow Agile principles and methodology whilst supporting in the mobilisation and participation on workshops with client and internal teams. In these workshops you will devise creative and engaging solutions to deliver personas, journeys and user flows that will influence the design of our solutions. You will take insights from consumer research, understand pain points and build end to end customer journeys.

You will help to create the user experience vision and play a key role in prioritising roadmaps whilst communicating budget & resource needs. You will support the chosen validation strategies and ensure high quality levels are met whilst driving products to meet their full potential. This will result in the providing our clients’ with an actionable roadmap to execute themselves or up to MVP collaboratively with BCG.

You will be a key member of the BCG Platinion team coaching other project members whilst assisting in the management of relationships with internal and external key stakeholders. You will work closely with our Leadership team to drive these efforts along with the delivery of project goals in order to bring to the forefront the impact of digital design. Finally as an Experience Designer, you will contribute to the Chapter’s development and help to build the BCG brand as a digital leader.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

We’re looking for exceptional talent from consulting, industry or both to join us. You would typically have:
[6+] years’ in end-to-end Experience Design including a range of Human Centred Design activities such as user research, user experience design, service design, prototyping, visual design, user interface design, interaction design or policy implementation design
• A background in user experience, with proven experience delivering concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, userflows, sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes in a client facing environment
• Experience in developing in User Interface mock-ups and prototypes and being able to identify and troubleshoot User Experience problems
• Strong knowledge of research methods and frameworks, user interface standards, tools and industry guidelines
• Strong knowledge and experience around visual identity, workshop facilitation and design systems
• The ability to reference best practices and design patterns and can solve complex problems and novel interface challenges
• Strong understanding of user experience design principles and best practices with the experience and judgement to question convention when appropriate
•Visual communication skills, using sketching and other tools to articulate thoughts about complex problems, datasets or experimentation
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with at least 3 of the following tools or technologies: Figma, Sketch, InVision, Principle, Framer, Adobe XD or similar prototyping tools and AfterEffects
• Demonstrated experience with core digital prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsami, InVision, Adobe CS
• A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates strong human centres design capabilities and core craft-skills across a variety of clients and industries showing process, methodologies and success
• Experience working within Agile / SCRUM methodologies
• Experience in translating user research and usability test findings into iterative product solutions
• Demonstrated experience in design research techniques and strategic / service design techniques.
• Highly passionate about design balanced with pragmatic approach to dealing with clients
• Know-how to driver operational and client service excellence, presenting project results to C-Level
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members embedded in multidisciplinary teams (Designers, Engineers, Product Owners, Architects) within a fast-paced environment

• Outgoing, personable, sociable and easy-going
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel to clients’ world-wide
• A Bachelor or Master’s degree with above average academic performance in a design related discipline such as: Interaction Design, Interface Design, Human Computer Interaction, Service Design with an emphasis on User Experience
• Fluency in English, fluency in Dutch is a really nice to have
