What You'll Do
- Leading the day-to-day execution of consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement; including:
- Owning the project planning and process management, and communicating progress to clients and BCG leadership
- Driving the development of the content, either directly or by providing guidance to the consulting team (for example, by sharing ideas, frameworks or providing input on research and analysis)
- Managing the client relationship on a day-to-day basis
- Managing project scope and maintaining an acceptable pace of work
- Actively managing multiple clients and stakeholder relationships and networking within the client organisation to understand their needs and help to influence the client agenda
- Leading senior client presentations and meetings
- Providing apprenticeship and coaching to junior consultants to help develop their consulting skills, including sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow
- Supporting and contributing to other BCG projects, for example by sharing expertise or best practices
- Contributing to the development of intellectual property within the Practice Area(s), including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches
- Contributing to business development efforts, including preparation of proposal documents, and attending pitch presentation
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- At least 8 years of experience working with a leading strategy consulting firm (focused on Financial Services/Financial Institutions) or combination of consulting and industry experience within banking, insurance or fintech
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- A track record of collaboration with senior executives. You must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management.
- Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential.
- Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximise shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.
- Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements
- A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical
- A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organisations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business
- A technical degree is nice to have, but not required
- A degree from a top-tier institution preferred
