Practice Area Profile

The Operations Practice (OPS) Area is one of BCG's largest functional practices. We help our clients create competitive advantage by enhancing their performance and building strategic capabilities. BCG’s expertise in Operations covers the following areas - supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing, service operations, cost efficiency, operational transformation, research & product development, program and project management, all with a strong digital and analytics overlay.

What You'll Do

As an Expert Associate Director affiliated to the Industry 4.0 topic you will be a core member of the Practice working alongside some of the world’s top minds in the industry. You will significantly contribute to the development of our Industry 4.0 topic and support our ambitious growth targets. The majority of your time will be spent leading and developing BCG Industry 4.0 related project teams composed of members of different backgrounds collaborating with you. You will also dedicate time to further develop and deepen BCG’s expertise in these areas, and to support BCG Partners in business development initiatives.

In this role, you will advise clients on key strategic business issues, producing leading-edge business models, addressing specific problems and opportunities and implementing sustainable solutions - all filtered through a lens of digital and data-driven innovation. You will also play a key role in high-level client relationships and act as a content lead for proposals and other business development work.


·       Play a leading role in the growth of our Industry 4.0 topic through case execution, client development and IP and product creation. Work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on site

·       Actively support our business development efforts: client meetings, industry conferences

·       Contribute to the creation of BCG’s intellectual capital on the topic : position papers, studies, insights from case experience, tools and products

·       Dedicate time to develop own and BCG’s expertise – developing and driving the content agenda to the next level

·       Provide mentorship and support to consultants ensuring continuous individual development

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate possesses:

·       At least 10 years of work experience in top level advisory or consulting firms, ideally candidates will have a mix of industry and consulting experience

·       Deep knowledge of each element of the Supply Chain and specifically experience using technology and systems to implement world class supply chains for our clients

·       It is essential, you have already earned proven results at prior clients using Industry 4.0 methods to improve or transform their supply chain

·       Proven ability to analyse and interpret data through a business & economic lens to advise clients as to how to improve their Supply Chain strategy

·       5 years leading/playing core role in driving projects – owning the project process, content and day-to-day client interactions

·       A track record of leadership and achievement, especially within Supply Chain Operations

·       Willingness to travel internationally and to work remotely on client sites
