Practice Area Profile
What You'll Do
- Design, implement and evaluate new algorithms and models to solve practical applied problems; build and test prototypes and software libraries.
- Report research findings through publishing peer-reviewed articles and presentation at research conferences.
- Provide domain expertise and work with Gamma DS on developing solutions to challenging client problems, as well as educating internal and client teams on cutting-edge AI technologies & methods.
- Collaborate and maintain research relationships with external academic and technology partners.
- Manage research projects and small research teams to deliver impact.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- Expertise and hands-on experience with state-of-the-art AI in at least one additional applied scientific domain: computational chemistry, material science, physics, quantum computing, engineering, bioinformatics, computational biology.
- Experience with very large scale (foundation models) in language, vision, audio/signals, and graphs would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience using advanced AI to solve practical applied problems.
- Self-motivated, proven collaborators, good communicators, attentive to details, and eager to learn.
- 7+ years of relevant industrial R&D work or academia experience.
- PhD in a technical field: computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or relevant field of science.
- Deep technical and scientific expertise, ability persuade and desire to work in a project-based environment.
- Proven track record of publications in first-tier peer-reviewed research.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects and teams.
- Fast-paced, intellectually intense, self-starter environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Position is located in either London or Paris.
