What You'll Do

You will be a part of the Financial Institutions Data Tribe, a global and virtual team focusing on data analysis and financial modelling. We support BCG’s transaction banking products for both retail and business banking segments across the world and our profitability improvement products comprise world leading experts with strong industry knowledge. This role requires a strong exposure to partners and senior manager within BCG, along with some client exposure. You will be working under supervision in further development and enhancement efforts of the existing consulting offerings, as well as the generation of new content. The major task involves manipulating and working with large data sets, and ability to work with different big data and analytical tools. 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data/information from various sources to improve the quality and the coverage of the data models 
  • Strong data analysis to build and generate robust business cases that help FI make implementation decisions 
  • Assess market/industry trends as well as the competitive performance of firms operating in a particular market 
  • Address client questions/queries using the data and content expertise 

YOU’RE GOOD AT 

Functional and soft skills: 
  • Good understanding of the functions, products and services within the payments and the transaction banking industry 
  • Excellent analytical skills, working with large data sets, finding patterns and providing a concise summary 
  • Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders at different levels in the organisation 
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced, global project environment 
  • Driving new ideas, with limited guidance and working independently 
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter attitude - willing to go the extra mile 
  • Accuracy, strong attention to detail 
  • High working standards and ethics 
  • Eagerness and ability to learn fast 

Technical skills: 
  • Strong command of MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Working knowledge of Alteryx is needed 
  • Python. DataIKU, Tableau, BI tools, VBA, etc. will be a strong advantage 

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • University degree with demonstrated high academic achievement, preferably in Business administration (with a focus on finance), quantitative sciences (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics), economics, computer science, engineering or other data/analytical-centric disciplines 
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis and business modelling is required 
  • Proven research and database management and analysis capabilities 
  • Understanding of the payments and the transaction banking industry
  • Fluency in Spanish highly desired
  • Peers across Financial Institutions' data assets to execute and deliver the findings 
  • Senior counterparts for directions, best practices, and overall guidance 
  • BCG consulting teams, BCG Partners and clients to discuss insights & support delivery of consulting projects.
