What You'll Do

In this role, you will lead and support the execution of personalization and digital marketing related assignments by

  • Jointly working with BCG and client leaders
  • Supporting or leading case teams who are in need for a deep and hands-on approach for the entirety of the project or at a module level on a selected topic
  • Interacting with client digital marketing leaders and driving constructive dialogues with them on how to step change the performance in their organization as well coaching client teams on the benefits and the usage of specific marketing technologies
  • Engaging with vendors to assess the costs, value and fit for the client’s requirements

In addition, you will build marketing and advertising technology expertise within BCG and increase BCG’s profile externally by

  • Creating awareness of BCG’s expertise and capabilities;
  • Supporting a continuous development of personalization and digital marketing capabilities internally at BCG
  • Developing and improving the methodologies and tools, we apply
  • Contributing and developing BCG's intellectual capital

Moreover, you will support business development opportunities by providing content expertise on personalization and digital marketing topics in business development and proposal contexts.

Our Expert Consulting Track (ECT)

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

We recruit for various levels of seniority, depending on your level of experience in both consulting and the industry.

This role is available with the following key areas of focus:

  1. MarTech Expert: You'll bring deep digital & technical marketing skills such as MarTech/AdTech expertise to the team, guiding architecture and design of MarTech systems, including but not exclusive to Adobe and SalesForce marketing suites, marketing analytics and Google360.
  2. Measurement Expert: You'll bring deep expertise in marketing measurement techniques (including MTA, MMM) as well as brand measurement with experience from spend optimization across funnel steps and tactics.
  3. Operational Experience: You'll bring operational digital marketing expertise with skills like setting up campaigns and managing marketing spend, proficiency in Facebook/IG, Google Search, PLAs, GA preferably in industries like retail, fashion & luxury, eCommerce or tech companies.

Professional Skills and Expertise

As a Consultant, you would typically have:

A minimum of 5 years' combined experience in

  • a consulting firm including projects focused on system implementation or marketing operations, or
  • the industry, e.g., in a management/expert role in a data driven digital marketing organization;

  • A proven track record of leading data driven digital marketing projects
  • Extensive knowledge of the marketing technology landscape (on-prem solutions, cloud based solutions, hands-on implementation and use), advertising technologies (DMPs, DSPs, analytics and measurement) and execution across all interaction channels and media (owned channels – e.g. email, contact center, branch/store, mobile, web – digital media channels – e.g. FB, Google, display, video, search -), including key players (e.g. Salesforce, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, Pega, Marketo), including an understanding of marketing technology trends and value drivers
  • Gained experience from working with data science teams as part of data driven digital marketing
  • Experience in project management
  • Ideally an advanced degree (MSc, MBA or Ph.D.) – an outstanding academic track record is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English

As a Project Leader, in addition to the above, you would typically have:

  • A total of 8+ years of experience as detailed above, including a minimum of 3 years within a strategy consulting firm
  • A proven ability to manage client engagements and relationships and to provide guidance to teams, holding responsibility for the quality of the project work
