What You'll Do

BCG is looking for Senior Consultants and Project Leaders in the areas of M&A, Carve-out, and PMI. As a Senior Consultant or Project Leader, you will contribute to further expanding BCG’s leading market position in corporate transactions. You’ll partner with clients across industries to take on their most difficult challenges, transform businesses, create outstanding value, and bring capabilities that enable organizations to achieve sustainable advantage from acquisitions or divestitures. You will be a core member of BCG’s Corporate Finance & Strategy practice working alongside some of the world’s top I-banks and law firms on the top industry-shaping transactions. Being part of BCG’s global Transaction Center, you’ll also significantly contribute to the development of our M&A, Carve-out, and PMI topics, as well as support our ambitious growth targets.
  • Your main focus will be on supporting or executing M&A, Carve-out, and PMI projects, as well as leading workstreams or project teams composed of members of different backgrounds.
  • You’ll play a key role in the growth of the M&A, Carve-out, and PMI topic by executing cases, developing clients, and creating intellectual property and products.
  • You will execute or provide expertise and support to other Corporate Finance & Strategy projects for our key clients globally, including portfolio planning, full potential plans, or shareholder value advisory, for instance.
  • You’ll build and spread M&A, Carve-out, and PMI expertise within BCG and serve as a hub for the firm to develop new techniques and/or gather new ideas as well as casework experience.
  • You will contribute to BCG’s practice area publications and to BCG’s M&A, Carve-out, and PMI approach and tool kit, benchmarks, templates, and processes.
  • You’ll work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on-site.
  • You’ll actively support our business development efforts, such as in client meetings or industry conferences.
  • You’ll provide mentorship and support to consultants ensuring continuous individual development.

Practice Area Profile

Strategy and value creation are part of BCG’s DNA. With the experience curve, growth-share matrix, time-based competition, or digital deconstruction, BCG has been at the forefront of strategic innovation. We partner with clients not just to develop strategies but also to achieve superior results by supporting in transactions and broader transformations. Bringing a strategy to life—and accelerating value creation—often requires new skills, expanded market access, and stopping some things while starting others. Transactions are a key lever, but more than half of deals destroy value. What does it take to unlock potential? This is what our M&A, Carve-out, and PMI teams are actively working on every day as part of the Corporate Finance & Strategy practice (CFS).

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • You have either spent a minimum of 3–5 years at a top-tier consulting firm working in the field of M&A, Carve-out, and/or PMI or at a top-tier investment bank or have gained substantial experience in a corporate environment.
  • You have extensive experience in supporting or running large, complex M&A, Carve-out, and/or PMI projects and can demonstrate impressive results from prior projects.
  • Your deep knowledge allows you to analyze and interpret data through a business and economic lens and to successfully advise international clients.
  • You are an active contributor in the wider M&A, Carve-out, and PMI space, such as through your participation in publications or industry conferences, and have a demonstrated passion for topics in this area.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English, in addition to a strong presence, team spirit, and leadership skills.
What we offer you
  • An attractive, performance-based compensation package with fixed and variable components
  • A competitive pension package as well as an excellent insurance package and social security benefits
  • Large number of training programs and personal support of mentors and coaches
  • Flexible working models and a broad range of offers regarding well-being, work-life balance, and family
  • A wide variety of social events
  • Social networks such as Colorful@BCG, Pride@BCG, Women@BCG, and Family@BCG
