What You'll Do
Senior Software Engineers at BCG Platinion:
- things that have not been made before using an iterative prototyping process so that the usability and the technical feasibility of a design can be evaluated.
- new technologies and programming languages quickly.
- in an agile way in interdisciplinary teams of strategists, researchers, designers and developers applying the principles of Human-Centered Design.
- projects working closely with client teams to build trusted relationships.
Responsibilities
- Design and build technology products and systems at varying levels of fidelity and scale from lightweight mock-ups to MVPs.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Use state-of-the-art methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Provide a high level of quality on all work performed.
- Perform work within budget allotted.
- Proactively seek help and learn from critique/failures.
- Manage small- to medium-size projects.
- Develop and maintain client relationships at the project team level.
- Recruit and develop lower level staff.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Broad knowledge of full-stack web and mobile technologies, languages, and their frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript, React, Angular, nodejs) with deep expertise in at least one.
• Broad knowledge of most major operating systems (Mac/Windows/Linux/iOS/Android) with deep expertise in at least one.
• Broad knowledge of most major database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) with deep expertise in at least one.
• Broad knowledge of most Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with deep expertise in at least one. Ability to deploy and run code on cloud native components.
• Excellent self-management and communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to explain complex technical topics to different kind of audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills combined with an intellectual curiosity, and a desire to “get things done.”
• Ability to lead a small collaborative team of designers and developers in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze and evaluate trade-offs among alternative approaches.
• Ability to solve new and complex problems in effective and elegant ways.
• Willingness to travel. At times, this role may involve significant travel. The amount of travel depends on client needs and nature of projects.
Nice-to-Have
• Real work in the world (GitHub, App Stores, Websites)
• Mobile development experience (iOS, Android)
• Experience designing and building asynchronous distributed systems
• Experience or interest in user interface design, hardware/firmware, or new technology areas (e.g., AI/ML, Big Data, Blockchain, IoT, AR/VR)
• Familiarity with DevOps and production coding
• Familiarity with agile and human-centered design processes
• Experience at a consultancy or with interdisciplinary teams
