Practice Area Profile
What You'll Do
- Leading consulting engagements focused on sustainable procurement, scope 3 abatement through supplier engagement and ecosystem development on key inputs
- Actively monitoring industry sustainability trends across key input ingredients for our clients (e.g., dairy, cocoa, palm oil, aluminum, grains, chemicals, plastics) and industry coalitions (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil)
- Supporting product development and refinement on BCG’s offer on sustainable procurement and supplier engagement for scope 3 abatement
- Deploying and support development of new features of BCG’s digital tool on scope 3 measurement and abatement, CO2.AI
- Providing clear view of ecosystem of other digital tools addressing end-to-end value chain transparency; recommend and develop partnership for BCG with external providers
- Developing BCG’s thought leadership for corporate leaders, policy makers, public sector agencies, and cross-industry alliances on developing sustainable value chains on key inputs for the Consumer Products industry
- Working jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on-site
Our Expert Consulting Track (ECT)
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 5+ years of consulting experience with a focus in sustainable procurement in consumer products and/or relatable industry experience
- Knowledge of key topics in one or more of: sustainable procurement, product development, supplier engagement, etc.
- Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value.
- As appropriate based on tenure, proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements. A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex industry concepts in non-technical terms
- Federal procurement experience a plus
