Given the technical specialization needed for this role, it will be housed within BCG X, BCG’s cutting-edge group of computer science, statistics, AI and machine learning experts with deep industry expertise. These teams own the full analytics and product development value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, building fact-bases, designing innovative algorithms, creating scale through designing tools and apps, and training colleagues and clients in new solutions. While housed within BCG X, This role will partner closely with our BCG Tech Capital commercial due diligence consulting teams to drive insights across integrated commercial and product diligences with close alignment with our Principal Investors and Private Equity Practice.

What You'll Do

You will be a part of the FI Data Tribe, comprising content experts with strong industry knowledge, and executing and updating different proprietary assets- such as peer benchmarks, databases, diagnostic tools, and market sizing models. As an integral member of the team, you will interact with both local and international teams as well as clients to diagnose/solve client’s problems and ensure the delivery of quality projects. You will be working under supervision in further development and enhancement efforts of the existing assets, as well as the creation of new offerings. Additional tasks involve the development of internal methodology and processes that requires an inclination towards technology and new age tools, exploring the art of the possible while feeling at ease manipulating and working with large data sets, and ability to work with different big data and analytical tools.


What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Education and experience:

  • University degree with demonstrated high academic achievement, preferably in Business administration (with a focus in finance), quantitative sciences (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics), or other data/analytical centric disciplines
  • Knowledge/experience in the financial institution industry of 2 to 5 years is required. Experience in the wholesale banking industry is an asset.
  • Proven research and database capabilities
  • Specific experience in peer benchmarking, building simulation models of driver-based assessments, operating/developing diagnostic tools, etc., will be an added advantage

Technical skills:

  • Strong command of MS Office suite, esp. PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of BI tools, SQL/Databases, Alteryx, Python, DataIKU, Tableau, etc.
  • Knowledge of FI industry databases like SNL, Bloomberg, Thomson, etc. is welcome

BCG GAMMA is a global business unit that is an integral part of BCG’s strategy with responsibility for full-lifecycle of BCG proprietary data and software assets, from initial business case to roadmap delivery, launch, go-to-market, and ongoing support operations. Within this business unit, we have a dedicated, strong team working on data assets for BCG’s Financial Institutions Practice (FIP), covering multiple industry segments, including retail banking, wholesale banking, asset management, wealth management, and transaction banking.
