Practice Area Profile
What You'll Do
- Develop hypotheses, insights, and key findings
- Conduct in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, industry experts and customers
- Lead teams conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis (e.g., spend analysis, feature/functionality benchmarking, competitor analysis, org. and technical capabilities including the core technologies used in build) to support the formulation and validation of strategic recommendations
- Add inputs to deal models that both drive valuations and the overall deal model
- Maintain relationships with clients at appropriate levels
- Motivate teams and develop junior team members
- Contribute to people initiatives; recruiting, retaining and training current and future staff
- Understand and articulate every part of the software development life cycle and the core technologies used to develop these products or platforms
- Guide non-technical teams and consultants in understanding development best practice, software scalability, and architectural implications
- Help mentor and guide junior consultants
- Interact directly with private equity and corporate clients
- Location of position: Boston, New York, or San Francisco
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- Experience in software development and working with global and remote agile squads
- A bachelor's degree and ideally and advanced degree or MBA with outstanding academic performance and at least five years of software-related work experience, preferably:
- Strategy consulting work experience
- Degree in computer science or related field plus ideally an advanced degree (MSc, PHD or MBA from a top-ranking institution)
- Transaction experience, ideally in performing product due diligence and/or strategic value creation assignments
- Project management expertise with demonstrable experience in delivering successful outcomes and knowledge of structured methodologies
- Familiarity with industry standards for product management, UI/UX design principles, software architecture, software development life cycle methods and the ability to provide relevant insights based on experience
- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities
- Effective organization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
- Passion for the technology sector
- Fluency in English is required as well as fluency in the local language for some locations
- Ability to travel based on client and business needs. Expect ~30%
